K.W. Land Station
Proposed for Erection in
HONG KONG.
GENERAL.
The T pe of Station described below is designed to afford regular communication during the hours of daylight over a range of
950 nautical miles when working across open water with a station
similarly equipped with regard to height of Aerial and power and
efficiency of the Plant employed, The Range atated above would be considerably increased during the night hours and would amount
under favourable conditions to as much as three times the value
siven.
In addition to the Main Installation of the 30 KW. Size, a
Bubsidiary Installation for transmitting on the shorter wave lengths
would be supplied employing & separate fransmitting Aerial.
The Main Installation is designed to transmit on a range of
wave lengths between the limits of 2,300 and 4,000 metres, and the
Subsidiary Installation on wave length of 300 and 600 metree. The Receiving Apparatus is calibrated for the reception of all wave
lengths between the limits of 100 and 4,400 metres.
The normal and most efficient wave length for the Main Instal-
lation, and that for which the larger Transmitting Aerial is designed
is 3,000 metrce, and it is for this wave length that the normal
langs given above is guaranteed.
